Our Life Lately

Austin and I have had a very busy and exciting last few months. Here are a few things that we have been doing!

Austin got a great job at the new BYU Broadcasting building.  His job requires him to watch BYU football tape, and call and meet famous BYU athletes. If you know Austin, this job was made for him.

I have been working at KLAS Enterprises since January.  It has been a great job and I have really enjoyed working there. Tomorrow is my last day at KLAS due to a required internship that I will begin in August. My internship is at Community Connect, a non-profit Dental organization. Besides my internship, I only have 9 more credits to take before I will graduate from BYU! Wasn't it just yesterday that I was a little nervous freshman going to live in Heritage Halls?

The location of our annual Lowe Family Reunion

One of the most exciting events was my younger brother Bryant coming home from his two-year mission to Richmond, Virginia. He has been teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ and has changed the life of many people for the better. We couldn't be prouder of him and are so happy he is with our family again!

Austin's brother David and his wife Rachel had two adorable twin girls! We are so excited that we live close to them so we can see these sweet girls whenever we want!

Oh....and we went to the Stadium of Fire. We saw one of the best firework shows in the nation, and saw Brad Paisley and David Archuleta perform. My family was able to go and we had amazing seats!

Another exciting piece of news is that my older Trent is engaged to an amazing girl! They will get married August 5th in the Mount Timpanogos Temple! We couldn't be happier with the girl Trent fell in love with and look forward to having Kristen in our family.

Something that I am pretty excited about is our upcoming summer vacation!
On July 21st my entire family (minus missionary Terrell) are headed to Hawaii!!!

Aloha!

Oh and did I mention that I LOVE my husband. We have almost been married for one year now!! He is such a great person and makes me want to be better person. I am so blessed to be married to such a great guy and to have such an amazing family. I am so grateful to know that I will live with my husband and family forever.

For one of my Public Health classes I created a blog that addresses what women in conflict go through. If you really want to know how lucky we all are, read my blog.

Brothers!

My little Terrell is leaving from the MTC this Tuesday to go to California where the real mission work begins!

Everyday I drive to work and look at every single missionary that is around the MTC or the temple. No, I haven't seen Terrell yet, but that is my goal.  I have seen some boys that look like Terrell from a distance...so just to make sure... I drive in the parking lot and roll down the window to get a better look. I am sure I have creeped a lot of missionaries out, but it is necessary :)

Can I just say that I have the most amazing brothers ever (and husband...Austin made me put this)! I have two brothers that are on a mission right now. Terrell is leaving for Arcadia, California on Tuesday and Bryant is serving in Richmond, Virginia. Bryant will come home from his two year mission in June! I cannot express how excited I am. It will be nice when Terrell comes home so our whole family can be together again.  Terrell is learning Spanish in the MTC and it seems to be coming along. He is very excited to serve the people of California. He is so happy and such a great example to me. He has been though some tough things, but has always had faith that things will work out. I am so proud of Terrell and the choice and sacrifice that he has made, to share the wonderful message of the gospel; it is the source of true happiness. I know that he will be an amazing missionary!

This is his new address for those interested!

BRYANT

Here are some pictures of Bryant and the people he is teaching in Richmond. He loves the people so much and told us that he doesn't want to come home. I am glad he doesn't have a choice in the matter:) He is a great missionary and works very hard. My brothers have always been amazing examples and kept me in line. They are my best friends and I couldn't be happier with the good choices they are making in their lives.

Like I said before, I have the best brothers ever.

The Many Adventures of Us!

Two days after we got married we headed to Cabo San Lucas for our honeymoon. It was so fun and was really relaxing after a long summer of planning/working and a good break before we started up at BYU for my senior year! Where has the time gone?!

Neither Austin and I had either been to Cabo so it was an adventure. Thanks so his kind grandmother and parents this trip was made possible. Thank you!

The view from our hotel!

On our snorkeling/boat trip

We ate amazing food in Cabo. This breakfast buffet was the best I have ever eaten at. It had a pastry bar, smoothie station, and so many other things like watermelon juice and fresh fruit galore

Since our hotel was a ways from town, we used the bus system....which was interesting

This cute little man sang to us during dinner

After waiting in the 120 degree weather
for twenty plus minutes, this bus was a heavenly sight

 Field Trip

Did you know that there are some very important sites just west of Brigham City!?...Well there are..:) Austin is the teacher's assistant for a Humanities Honors class so he drove a van full of students two hours away for a Saturday field trip. I was invited to accompany Austin and it was an amazing experience.

We first traveled to The Golden Spike a National Historic site where people witnessed one of the most important accomplishments of the 19th century. On May 10, 1869, officials of the Central Pacific Railroad and Union Pacific Railroad met here to drive four symbolic spikes (two gold), celebrating the completion of the first transcontinental railroad. They even reenacted this great event for us!

Next we drove to see the Spiral Jetty an earthwork sculpture by American sculptor Robert Smithson.  The Spiral Jetty was constructed on the northeastern shore of the Great Salt Lake.  It forms a 1,500-foot-long, 15-foot-wide counterclockwise coil jutting from the shore of the lake which is only visible when the level of the Great Salt Lake falls below a certain elevation.  It was really amazing...and I definitely need to make another trip to the salt flats before I leave the state of Utah.

My silly :)

The water is red from a specific type of algae that grows here.
This is the reason that Robert decided to construct the Jetty in this particular location.

 The sky was so blue!

Here is a random picture of a hot air balloon.
On Saturdays I see them in the Provo skies, they are beautiful.
